Dear Parents,
Thank you for getting your students to school daily on time and safely. A recent supervision audit with our safety team, shared some issues/concerns with our first grade lining up area in the mornings. To provide the best supervision before school at HES, we have changed the entrance area for our first-grade students starting on Monday November 6, 2023.
All 1st grade students will now enter school through the south entrance (gate by the stairs). Students will go out to the playground area, and when the bell rings at 7:50am, they will line up at the west doors, the large playground set, to enter the school.
If you have been dropping your child off and walking them to the TK gate, you will now walk them to the Kinder gate. If you want to skip the parking lot all together, we encourage you to pull up in the drop off zone by the stairs, on 4th Ave, and staff will meet them at the Kinder gate to go to the playground.
Your child’s Teacher will show them on Friday November 3rd, where to line up and enter the school and remember, they will no longer be able to enter through the TK gate in the morning.
At the end of the day, first grade student pick up will continue to be at the TK gate area.
