Phase 2 Picking up students after school

hello Hilton families we have completed phase one of dropping off your students at Hilton and now it is time to move to phase 2 after school pick up starting on May 6th we are new process if you are picking up your child at the end of the school day make sure you review the time and location where your students will be picked up as this has changed we ask that you follow these new procedures and doing so will help ensure everyone's safety and that the traffic flow smoothly after school please use the color coding to help you identify your pick up time and location for your students in the new pickup zones blue and yellow you will not be able to exit your vehicles unless you are assisting your students by Buckley and them in their car seats the Blue zone is 40k Kinder and sped students they will be released at 2:20 p.m. in front of the school if your child is a t k and has other siblings in Grey's 12 and Kinder they will also meet you in this area t.k. and kindergarten will pull up to the pickup zones you can see the blue star area on the photo the same location we use in the morning teachers will be behind the play gate and we'll wait for you to pull up please wait in line until you reach the staff assistance and your child will enter the car on the right which is a curbside never on the left side which is the traffic each student will have a bright blue colored student pick up ID tag that can be displayed on the right side of a car dashboard that has that student teachers name and your child's name these blue pickup ID tags will be sent home with your students in their backpacks May 1st through the 3rd so please check for them there will be two ID tags so you may cut them in half to use in another vehicle if needed if your child needs assistance with buckling their seat this is the only time you will be able to exit your car and assist your child once your child has been picked up please merge into the through traffic lane check for oncoming cars before doing so please be aware of pedestrians and watch for cars backing out of parking spaces as you exit the lot the yellow zone is for first and second grade. your pickup area has changed unless you have a t k Kinder student as a simile sibling you our new location will start on 2nd Avenue and will take you to the back side of the school scene yellow area on the map parents if you parked here in the past to walk up the stairs you will no longer be able to do this as this is only for first and second grade families to line up we know this is going to feel a little chaotic at first but with lots of cars but once the buses leave the line will move quickly you can think of it as Disneyland we get in line we wait and then the fun is at the end as soon as the buses leave teen straight you will enter the campus by the basketball courts and follow the arrows to the back of the school where you see the yellow star students will be waiting for your arrival each family will have a bright yellow colored student pick up ID tag that they can display on the right side of their car dashboard that has the students teachers name and your child's name on it these yellow pickup ID tags will be sent home with in your child will enter the car on the right side of your vehicle once your student is in your vehicle proceed along the building stop at the stop sign yielding to traffic then proceed to exit onto 2nd Avenue going left the green zone is for Walkers this our Walkers will meet at the top of the stairs around the Kinder area students are being picked up by walking parents and siblings will meet here as well as the intermediate students who walk from Z is they will wait inside the kindergate with a staff member look for family members to arrive here are some parking lot reminders in addition to the guidelines we ask you also remember handicap permits are always required in handicap areas please refrain from parking for leaving your car along red or yellow curb as these are no parking zones due to the congestion in our parking lot so you must always be escorted inside in a car the parking lot if you park and then meet your child please ensure your child stays with you until you arrive at your car and the ex and exit the parking lot as soon as possible to make room for other families that are picking up their children please use a designated crosswalks and refrain from Crossing at any other location please also refrain from double parking at any time and follow the directions of any adults to safety patrol crossing guard following these safety guidelines in the parking lot so it's good examples for students and encourages them to do the same we will follow these pick-up procedures to the end of the school year and adjust for next fall if needed working together we will be able to enter and exit our parking lot quickly safely and in an orderly manner on behalf of all Hilton Elementary staff we thank you for your continued support and maintain safety
