The Zillah School Board approved Mrs. Gregory’s proposal to use a dog in the classroom as a reading incentive. Oliver, her yellow Labrador retriever, was granted permission to visit her classroom to listen to students read. Ollie will be visiting the room 1-2 times a month for the remainder of the school year.

Mrs. Gregory previously had a dog in the classroom from 2003-2014. The program was a huge success!

Oliver has completed a vast amount of training and temperament testing. He is a certified Love on a Leash Therapy dog. He has already volunteered in several senior living facilities throughout the Yakima Area. He loves working and bringing a smile to others. Welcome to Hilton Ollie!

Scouts BSA Troop 555 has been working on their Crime Prevention Merit Badge. They met with Lt. Tucker of the Yakima County Sheriff's Office in Zillah who taught them about crime and crime prevention methods. The Scouts have been asked to create posters or fliers for the community to see so they can help others gain awareness of ways to help prevent crime in our area and keep our neighborhoods safe. This flier was created by Keaton Schafer and will be laminated and posted on the community board outside of the Zillah post office.
